Marsh House has commanding views over the Pacific and the eastern seaboard. A collaboration with an architecturally trained client began with plans of a house whose antecedents were mid-century modern. The design developed with an honest expression and a concern for balance between the house as family home and the apparent grandeur demanded by its site.The layout begins with a functional lower ground plane, then a main living level raised from the street but engaged with the private outdoor spaces, and an upper floor - the private realm, above an expansive roof terrace.
